About the Artist...

I spent most of my childhood living in Mexico where my parents

owned and operated a hunting and fishing camp. I started out
painting wildlife portraits for my dad who was an avid
sportsman. My mom always kept me supplied with the proper
  tools and much encouragement.

As a teenager I began painting horse portraits for friends and
later customers of the boarding stable I owned together with
my husband. However, running a boarding stable left little
time for art work. In 2000 we closed our ranch due to lease
problems and I began training horses full time at L-S Ranch in
Whittier, CA. People still asked for portraits of their horses
and my new business schedule allowed me the time to paint
  seriously.

I am still training Western horses and teaching people to ride
at L-S Ranch but my afternoons and evenings are devoted to
my art. I enjoy the challenge of capturing all the personalities
of the great pets in which I am asked to paint. Each animal has
a story to tell and their owner sees that pet in a special way.
My goal is to paint that vision for you of your friend. I don't
copy photos. I use your photos for reference to paint something
unique and bring out the real beauty and personality of the
animal that photos often miss. Sometimes people are left only
with a few faded photos of a beloved pet . I can change that for
you. I can paint you a special, one of a kind portrait that you
  can cherish forever.

Portraits make great gifts as well!
